Edward Chin

Dr. Chin grew up in the New York area.  He graduated from Dartmouth College and the SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine.  During his medical education, he was awarded membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.  At Mount Sinai School of Medicine, he completed his General Surgery residency and subsequent fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Dr. Chin performs laparoscopic bariatric surgery for weight loss specifically sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and Lapband.  His additional clinical interests include colectomy for benign and malignant disease, hiatal hernia and antireflux surgery, abdominal wall hernia repair, and solid organ removal, including laparoscopic donor nephrectomy. He is board certified in surgery, and has been active in research, publishing on these topics in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting at national meetings. Dr. Chin also serves as a mentor for surgical residents and medical students, and holds positions on departmental and hospital-wide committees.
